MORE FROM DARLENE / NPC

I have tried for years to find a suitable souvenir from NPC. I purchased this decal while stationed there. To date, it is all I have. If anyone knows where any NPC memorabilia can be purchased, please let me know.

Darlene BUROKER McCullough (Naval Photographic Center 1960)

Wow was my reaction when I received this email from Darlene. this is the whole reason for starting this blog in the first place. I was hoping that other Photo Mates would contribute photos and stories about their time in the Navy.  Here's what Darlene wrote. 

Sarj, 

I just discovered your blog. I was so excited to find the comment from Jim Diaz. He was my classmate (class 59-38). I arrived in Pensacola mid-July 1959, so I was coming as you were leaving. I graduated in February and received orders to NPC Anacostia, D.C. I worked in the still-black and white lab with the people pictured in a group photo of the people I have enclosed. My maiden name was Buroker, and I remained at NPC until my discharge. 

I married a Navy man, and had five children and eleven grandchildren. My husband CMD. David U. McCullough has been teaching at Lewis-Clark State College for the past twenty-two years, and he retired with twenty-two years active duty. 

This portrait of me was taken at the Naval Photographic Centre in 1960. The second photo was a farewell party for Sally Sweeney. The third photo is of my Burteaux (on the right), and I do not know the name of the man on the left. 

Being stationed in Florida was real treat for a gal from Idaho  I enjoyed photo school, and most of my classmates and hope to hear from someone who recognizes either me or the group shot from NPC.
